Notre Dame Des Secours - Services - - THE PEDIATRIC PLAYROOM

PEDIATRICS

An educator seeks to distract hospitalized children using games, crafts, music, and storytelling either in the playroom or in their own room if there is a risk of infection. She organizes birthdays and play days, and welcomes students who come to stage plays or sketches to the benefit of cancer patients or other hospitalized patients.

Game sessions and other games are organized according to the patient’s age.

“My School Pulse” assures the continuity of school studies. The NDS psychology team helps both parents and their children to tend to their suffering and their needs.

The philosophy of the playroom is as follows: hospitalized children have the right to continue to play and to learn as well. Our aim is to fight against children’s isolation in hospital settings.
