RHEUMATOLOGY

The Rheumatology service is in charge of offering diagnosis and treatment to patients suffering from an inflammatory or mechanical pathology of the musculoskeletal system: inflammatory articular rheumatisms and systemic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, scleroderma, lupus, vasculitis, etc.), spinal diseases (lumbago, sciatica, etc.), bone and metabolic diseases (osteoporosis, gout, chondrocalcinosis, bone cancer, etc.), muscle and tendon pathologies (myositis, periarthritis, tendinitis, etc.).

The Rheumatology service encompasses a conventional hospitalization unit, a daycare hospital unit, and a consultation unit.

  • The conventional unit

Care activities in this unit include diagnosis (clinical assessment, requests for additional tests: biology, X-rays, scans, MRI, etc.) and the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases.

  • The daycare hospital unit

Patients are hospitalized to perform scheduled additional investigations or to administer intermittent treatment or other treatments at regular intervals (such as the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis using biotherapy). This unit also provides general rheumatology consultations.
