PSYCHIATRY

The mental health of populations is a major challenge for society and a public health issue. For several years now, NDS has had a psychiatry unit encompassing several psychiatrists who work in close collaboration with other physicians and psychologists at the hospital.

The psychiatry unit provides care to patients suffering from mental illnesses by means of outpatient consultations adapted to children, adults and the elderly. This unit also offers liaison consultations by providing care to hospitalized patients who suffer from psychiatric disorders linked to or superimposed on their organic diseases. It gives patients a solution to their psychiatric needs and improves care quality at the hospital by making it global and multidisciplinary.

This unit takes part in NDS academic activities, such as congresses, conferences, and courses, and assists students in their research.
