The Anatomy and Pathology Department at NDS was established in 1984. Its team is composed of two physicians, two medical secretaries, and two laboratory technicians. It collaborates closely with large specialized laboratories in Lebanon and abroad to cover any type of test or examination necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of patients.
The department handles biopsies and excised tissues to reach a diagnosis and assess prognosis, in addition to cancer screening through Pap smears and vaginal swabs. Post-mortem examinations are also carried out to determine the cause of death.
