The Pain Unit is a mobile department that aims to improve the quality of pain care at the hospital.
Its team is composed of Unit Head Prof. Souheil Chamandi, who is an anesthetist and resuscitation specialist, in addition to two nurses and an orderly.
Patients who come to the Pain Unit, regardless of whether or not they are hospitalized, may suffer from:
- Acute pain: it is managed by patient-controlled analgesia pumps (PCA, PCEA, PCRA)
- Chronic pain: it is managed by pain relief procedures that are repeated several times according to the type of procedure (such as epidural infiltration, various peripheral and central nerve blocks and acupuncture)
- Cancer pain managed according to the patient’s condition.
