The Neurosurgery Department at NDS is composed of a full-time chief physician, three part-time practitioners attached to the department, and three trainee residents.
This general neurosurgery department benefits from state-of-the-art equipment to perform neurosurgical procedures in optimal conditions and in keeping with international standards.
It is one of the best departments in Lebanon and, as such, it attracts patients from various Arab countries. In addition to the usual neurosurgery procedures, it encompasses the following subspecialties:
- Surgery for Parkinson’s and abnormal movements: it is the only department specializing in Parkinson’s disease in Lebanon and the first such department in the Middle East.
- Surgery for skull base tumors.
- Minimally-invasive spine surgery.
- Epilepsy surgery.
