Established in 1990, the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at NDS has a track record of more than 9,000 open heart and thoracic surgeries and has helped to train many Lebanese and foreign cardiothoracic surgeons ever since.
Its pioneering aortic dissection and mammary artery bypass service has become a state-of-the-art reference providing academic training and research.
It is regarded as a reference center in the MENA region and its team has contributed to establishing cardiothoracic surgery centers in Algeria and the Sudan.
